Once in a while a new technology comes along that changes how we think about the fundamental building blocks of modern civilization. The personal computer in the 70s-80s redefined how we do intellectual work, the internet in the 80s-00s supercharged our ability as a species to communicate and leverage ideas to the masses, and the mobile/web 2.0 revolution of the 2000s and 2010s reimagined the utility of the internet in a 24/7 connected world.
We believe that crypto is a similarly disruptive technology that will completely reshape our understanding of value storage and transfer, governance, economic design, financial systems, digital identity and ownership. We’re grateful to be in a blue ocean of vast opportunity and are confident that we’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg.
In our upcoming research posts we hope to share some insight into our humble beginnings, what drew us to the crypto space in the first place, our current analysis of the crypto landscape and where we think things are heading.
What is the Paperclip vision?
Our mission is to do our part in contributing to the future of the crypto space to benefit all new and old entrants. We aim to do this through 3 main activities:
Finding, advising, and backing high-integrity teams to help deliver on the promises of blockchain technology.
Helping builders navigate technical, regulatory, and product hurdles by actively contributing to open-source research and playbooks.
Educating and teaching new entrants to the space by being a reliable source of news and learning material for all levels of expertise.
